Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Who are you?

We’re Local Vets! We’re here to help independent veterinary practices build healthier businesses! We do that through our community of independent practices which promotes the great work done by independent vets, and our range of marketing and business growth services which are available to practices like yours.

  • What’s all this about?

We’re helping selected independent veterinary practices run a professional social media marketing campaign which shows people you care about them and their pets.

  • Why are you supporting independent vets?

We exist to help independent vets build healthier businesses! Effective marketing of your practice is one way to achieve that. We want to show you how you can market your practice professionally even if you don’t have a huge budget. In fact, this campaign will cost you nothing!

  • How are you helping us to promote our practice?

We’re helping you get more interest in your practice’s Facebook page and inviting people to share their stories with you. Your clients want you to take an interest in them and their pets, and our campaign gives you the opportunity to do so.

  • What’s all this about Super Heroes?

We think that all pets are Super Heroes in their own way. Our pets are always there for us, and we want to help celebrate how fantastic they really are!

  • I’m interested, what do I need to do?

If you haven’t already been sent an Information Pack, please contact us to request one. Then simply display the posters in your practice. The campaign is running throughout 2018 so you can keep the poster up for the remainder of the year or you can decide to run the campaign for a month or two. It’s up to you!

  • Do I need to do anything on Facebook?

If you want your clients to get involved, you’ll probably need to get the ball rolling. Use our template Facebook post (enclosed in your Information Pack and also on our Resources page) as a guide to what to post on your page. Perhaps ask a few members of staff to post about their own Pet Super Heroes too!

As you’re inviting people to post or comment on your page, you’ll need to make sure your Facebook page settings allow visitors to post and comment. If you’re not sure, go to your Facebook page settings and ensure the box to allow visitor posts is checked. If you’re not sure about your Facebook page settings, just contact us and we’ll try to help.

  • What should I post on Facebook?

You’ll find a template Facebook post on our Resources page which we recommend you adapt for your own use. Your post will get better engagement if you include a photo. You’ll also find an image file of the #MyPetSuperHero poster on our Resources page.

  • Do I need to say anything to clients?

The more you do to get your clients involved, the more likely it is that they’ll engage. Take the opportunity to talk to your clients about the #MyPetSuperHero campaign and invite them to share their stories. We know your team have many priorities when clients are in the clinic, but don’t forget that clients love to share their stories and want to feel connected to you and your practice.

  • Does it cost me anything?

No, it’s free to get involved! We’ll send you everything you need free of charge and we’re not requesting any donations or fundraising as part of this campaign.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to Street Vet, or if you would like to collect donations from your clients or carry out a fundraising event, you are welcome to do so. Please contact StreetVet using for more information.
